Note: Norman was in the army during world war two and was captured by the Japanees. He was made to work in the coalmines. Upon return to England he worked for a short time at the locksmiths, which had employed him before the war. Due to no pay rise(still paid what he had been before the war) he moved to Stafford where he worked in the mines. The family moved to Quebec Canada in 1956,where he worked in the Valdor mines. Shortly after they moved to Toronto where Norman became a bicycle machanic and a locksmith.
