Removal Order; Date: 1st March 1830
To the churchwardens & overseers of the Poor of the parish of Luton and to the churchwardens & overseers of the Poor of the parish of Bedford St Mary.
Complaint received from the churchwardens & overseers of Luton the John Garrett and Ann his wife and their two children Emma(3years) & James (18months) have intruded and come to inhabit in the parish of Luton not having gained a legal settlement there, nor provided a settlement owning them to be settled elsewhere. The said John Garrett & Ann his wife and two children have become chargeable to the parish of Luton.

We the said Justices of the Peace upon Examination of the said John Garrett upon oath adjudge that the lawful settlement of the said John Garrett and Ann his wife and their said two children to be the parish of St Mary in the town of Bedford. The churchwardens & overseers of the parish of Luton are therefore required to remove and convey the said John Garrett and Ann his wife and their two children to the parish of St Mary in Bedford. We the Justices require you the churchwardens & overseers of the parish of St Mary in Bedford to provide for them as inhabitants in your parish.
